RAU Job Fair 2018: A Platform for Students and Graduates to Directly Communicate with Recruiters
On May 30, Job Fair 2018 took place at Russian-Armenian University. The event attracted over 35 companies in information technology, telecommunications, tourism, banking, insurance and other fields.
Job Fair 2018 gave company representatives an opportunity to introduce career prospects to potential employees and created a platform for RAU students and graduates to directly communicate with recruiters.
For many students, Job Fair 2018 was in a way the first experience of job hunting. As Head of RAU Career Center Lusine Saribegyan, Ph.D., mentioned, Job Fair 2018 gathered more than 500 students and graduates of Russian-Armenian University.
The students had the chance to learn about the labour market demands first-hand and ask employers about what they look for when hiring. "When we take interns, we pay attention not only to their knowledge, but also their potential. When we notice their growth, we offer them the job", explained Pixomatic representative.
RAU Vice-Rector for Science, Professor Pargev Avetisyan mentioned that RAU alumni are among the most demanded specialists on the labor market and highlighted the importance for universities to keep up with current career trends.
Among the company representatives were RAU alumni themselves, for instance, Center of Positive Psychotherapy "Positum" was represented by the graduates of Russian-Armenian University.
Organized by RAU Career Center, Job Fair 2018 aimed to assist university students and graduates in enhancing their interviewing and networking skills, connecting with the employers and ultimately provide them with job and internship opportunities.
