Startup Kamurj Designed by RAU Students Won in the Semi-final of the International Competition "Eurasian Digital Platforms"

The startup Kamurj, designed by the students of Russian-Armenian University, won in the semi-final of the annual International Competition of Innovative Projects “Eurasian Digital Platforms” in Armenia in the category “Best Technology Solutions for Implementation of the EAEU Digital Agenda”, which took place on October 6 in Yerevan within the DigiTec Expo 2018. Together with Kamurj, 20 teams from five member states entered the competition finale.
RAU undergraduate students, Tigran Barseghyan, a third-year student in Economics, Hamlet Asatryan, a third-year student in Economics and Ani Antonyan, a fourth-year student Political Science, came up with idea. They explained that Kamurj is a digital platform intended to help suppliers of raw materials and producers of goods in the EAEU to cooperate across borders.
Hamlet, one of the project authors claimed that Kamurj aims at ensuring a multi-vector cooperation in order to reduce economic asymmetry and transaction costs within the union, and better distribute information. Kamurj (meaning bridge in Armenian) thus attempts to make the trade relations between the member states more efficient.
We were the youngest team there, the other participants - entrepreneurs, government officials -were older and far more experienced. However, this did not hinder our win”, in his turn highlighted Tigran.
The “Eurasian Digital Platforms” competition was organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The winners of the competition will present their developments at the Eurasian Week Forum in Yerevan, Armenia on October 22-24. The best projects will be implemented as part of the EAEU Digital Agenda or Integrated Information System of the Union.
