Visiting Professor John J. Poggi Introduced Intellectual Property Law to RAU Students
On November 9, RAU students, who successfully completed the course “Intellectual Property: Legal History, Review of U.S. and EU Systems, and Emerging Issues” run by a visiting lecturer IP Law Professor John J. Poggi, Jr., received certificates.
Professor John J. Poggi, Jr., General Counsel and Director of Administration for the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), delivered a series of seminars for the students and lecturers at Russian-Armenian University (RAU) on October 29 - November 9. The seminars aimed at giving students, researchers, junior lecturers and Ph.D. students specializing in law an opportunity to enhance their qualifications.
In two weeks of intensive training, Professor John J. Poggi, Jr. introduced the basics of Intellectual Property Law, covered origins of law tradition, characteristics of the forms of intellectual property rights - copyrights, trademarks, patents, and licenses, elaborated on recent cases, compared law practices in Armenia, U.S. and EU together with the students.
RAU Rector Professor Armen Darbinyan awarded Prof. John J. Poggi with a certificate of appreciation for imparting his valuable insights and inspiration to the students and lecturers of Russian-Armenian University. “I am sure that our students benefited greatly from the seminars, and we look forward to hosting Prof. Poggi here again and continuing the cooperation”, he said.
