Technology and Linguistics: From Theory to Practice International Conference
On November 14-15, Russian-Armenian University hosted an International Conference Technology and Linguistics: From Theory to Practice.
Foreign language instructors at RAU Department of Theory of Language and Cross-Cultural Communication came together to discuss the role of technology and characteristics of application of digital tools in the classroom. The conference also included invited speakers from Armenia, Ukraine, US.
The conference embraced four sessions: Foreign Language Teaching Technologies and Learning Methodologies, Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communication, Literature Studies, French Linguistics and Language Teaching.
During the conference, they discussed issues of lesson planning and benefits of improvisation, student motivation, correction of mistakes, movies and Ted Talks as effective tools in teaching, usage of social media in the language classroom. In particular, they shared useful digital resources, websites, apps aimed to enhance the teaching process.
