RAU Students Participating in ICTP Winter College on Optics
RAU Bachelor students in Electronics and Nanoelectronics, Narek Yengibaryan, Sargis Ghavalajyan and Georgiy Danielyan, participated in Winter College on Optics: Quantum Photonics and Information, which took place at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy on February 10-21.
The aim of the Winter College was to offer students and researchers training in quantum optics and quantum information. The College also offered insight into the new quantum technologies involving the generation and manipulation of photonic and matter-like states.
The students mentioned that the Winter college provided a useful platform to network with peers and advance their knowledge.
Founded in 1964 by the late Nobel Laureate Abdus Salam, ICTP seeks to accomplish its mandate by providing scientists from developing countries with the continuing education and skills that they need to enjoy long and productive careers. ICTP has been a major force in stemming the scientific brain drain from the developing world.
