Inesa Bardakchyan Won a MEXT Scholarship to Study in Japan
RAU Bachelor student in Area Studies Inesa Bardakchyan won a MEXT scholarship to study at Hokkaido University in Japan.
Among the many scholarship programs provided by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Inesa chose Nikkensei (Students of Japanese Studies).
“This is an annual scholarship program for students majoring in Japanese Studies. In March, I passed the Japanese language proficiency test and an interview at the Embassy of Japan in Armenia. Overall, there were four students competing for the scholarship, all from Russian-Armenian University, which is the only university in Armenia that gives the students an opportunity to specialize in Japanese as a primary language.
I am immensely thankful to RAU and my professors, especially Astghik Hovhannisyan and Ruzanna Khojikyan, who were always there for me. I am also very grateful to Kenichi Kojima, who came to RAU as an exchange student from the University of Tsukuba to study the Armenian and Russian languages, and became both a friend and teacher”, she confided.
Founded in 1876, Hokkaido University is a Japanese national university in Sapporo, Hokkaido. It is a member of the Imperial Universities of Japan, a league of the most prestigious institutions of higher education or research.
