Prof. Peter Kosta Became Honorary Professor of Russian-Armenian University
By resolution of the Academic Board of Russian-Armenian University Chair and Professor of Slavic Linguistics at the Institute of Slavic Languages and Literatures of the University of Potsdam, Prof. Peter Kosta, Dr. Phil. Habil. has been awarded with the title Honorary Professor of Russian-Armenian University for his valuable contribution to biolinguistics, the scientific input and promotion of Slavic Studies, as well as fruitful cooperation with RAU.
His teaching and research interests include biolinguistics, language impairments and disorders, language acquisition, universals, language typology and formal syntax and semantics, comparative linguistics, language contact and minority language research, language policy, pragmatics, especially conversation analysis, speech act theory, translation theory.
Prof. Peter Kosta has authored numerous monographs and edited volumes, major science series on linguistics, the number of his articles is more than 300. He is also Editor-in-Chief of The Oxford Encyclopedia of Slavic Languages. Prof. Kosta has been a visiting professor at Princeton University, Harvard University, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford.
Professor Peter Kosta delivered lectures within the advanced trainings on Current Issues in Linguistics for RAU professors and Ph.D. students. The trainings were part of the the IV International Research Conference The Russian Language at Crossroads of Times: Traditions and Innovations in Russian Studies, organized by RAU Department of Russian Language and Professional Communication.
