RAU Representatives at PROMIG Project Consortium Meeting at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
On November 5-8, 2019, representatives of Russian-Armenian University participated in the working meeting of the Erasmus + “Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education” project consortium at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia.
Larisa Avetisyan, Ph.D., project coordinator at RAU and senior lecturer at RAU Department of Economics and Finance and Mariam Voskanyan, D.Sc., Head of RAU Department of Economics and Finance (RAU Institute of Economics and Business) participated the meeting on behalf of RAU.
There, the consortium participants discussed the development of a joint training module on issues of migration in more detail. The module is designed for a wide audience - from students and young scholars to representatives of state bodies regulating migration policies and public organizations. The training module is going to be developed through adhering to multidisciplinary principle and focus on the study of legal, economic, social and international aspects of migration. The economic aspects of migration in the context of the joint module will be developed and presented by the teaching staff of RAU Institute of Economics and Business. The module will provide an analysis of economic implications of migration, in particular for labor markets of migrant-receiving countries and migrant-sending countries. The first training will take place in Armenia in March 2020.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the dates and format of the project’s concluding event, Winter School on Migration to take place in Deli, India in February 2020.
Russian-Armenian University has been participating in the PROMIG project as a partner since October 2016. The project will go on until April 14, 2020.
