RAU Academic Mobility Manager Participated in the Virtual International Staff Training Week

On May 11-13, 2020, RAU Academic Mobility Manager Araqsya Arzumanyan participated in Virtual International Staff Training Week, organized by Linnaeus University, Sweden.
The first-ever Virtual Staff Training with the theme "Competencies, skills and tools for intercultural higher educational environments" gathered more than 50 participants from all over the world in Zoom. There, they networked and interacted with each other virtually in an atmosphere of a real, face-to-face social interaction. Three days of intensive trainings covered Tools for net-based collaboration, Key Concepts in Intercultural Communication, Effective webinars and beyond, Teaching in the intercultural classroom among others.
Taking into consideration the situation with COVID-19, the event organizers decided to change the training format.
At first, I was disappointed. But to my surprise, the training turned out to be well-organized, useful and fruit bearing. As an Academic Mobility Manager and the one who deals with all Erasmus and mobility students, I have discovered the "Erasmus without paper" network during one of the sessions. No more paperwork, no more printed documents. I do like this concept, as it can at least turn our Department sustainable.  Also, I have familiarized myself with many organizational e-tools for webinars, distance courses, meetings and conferences. Last but not least, I got acquainted with representatives of different universities. Meeting my colleagues from Linnaeus University, with whom I communicate daily via email, was also important to me. Now due to this Virtual International Staff Training Week we’ve moved our cooperation to the next level, more friendly, open and sincere,” mentioned Araqsya Arzumanyan.
Additionally, Russian-Armenian University won the Grant for Incoming/Outgoing Staff/Students mobility to Linnaeus University for 2020-2023 academic years due to the efforts of the Department of International Cooperation.
