RAU Students Participate in a Virtual Exchange with University of South Alabama, USA
In April, second and third-year students of the Department of Linguistics of Russian-Armenian University who major in Linguistics (English language) had the chance to meet their peers from the USA via a series of virtual exchanges with the University of South Alabama, U.S.
This exchange was initiated by Dr. Laureen A. Fregeau, Professor at the University of South Alabama, who has been previously hosted by RAU at several virtual conferences. During the virtual exchange, native speakers of English from the USA have been meeting non-native speakers of English from Armenia. The discussed topics include challenges of learning languages, cultural differences between Armenia and US as well as further plans related to careers that can be pursued with a degree in Linguistics.
These one-to-one meetings have been largely benefitting both parties, and American students have expressed their sheer amazement at the high level of the students from Russian-Armenian University.
The exchange is ongoing and has encompassed in excess of 50 students studying languages at RAU.
