RAU Students Received RA President’s IT Awards
The students of Russian-Armenian University, who showcased outstanding academic results in the field of technology, received Republic of Armenia President’s Awards in Information Technologies 2017.
Michael Khachaturyan, a 3rd-year student in Applied Mathematics and Informatics, won in the nomination Best Bachelor Student of the 1st Degree, Vahram Voskerchyan, a Master’s student in Infocommunication Technologies and Communication Systems took the Best Master’s Student of 2nd degree, Ani Tumanyan, a Ph.D. student in Informatics and Computer Science, won the Best Ph.D. Student of the 1st degree award, Hovakim Grabski, a Ph.D. student in Biological Sciences, received the Best Ph.D. Student of the 2nd degree. Along with certificates, the students received memorabilia and monetary awards.
The awarding ceremony of the Republic of Armenia President’s IT Awards 2017 took place at the Presidential Residence on October 26. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the award winners and wished the award to be their first step on the way to even greater achievements.
“You should definitely try. Even if you fail in an initiative, never get discouraged. Try on, try again, and take a step halfway to success. Try to learn, improve, and success will not be late. It is my message to you and all your friends and peers.
Remember, very few people can boast a lightning stroke of success in the field of science and technology. Success comes through hard work and after several attempts”, encouraged the President.
This year, 26 university students and 17 school students from 6 higher educational institutions and 8 high schools were awarded with the annual Presidential Award. The award recipients are traditionally selected in two rounds: first, a specialized committee assesses their academic performance and then determiners the winners though individual interviews. So far, 452 students and pupils have been awarded the RA Presidential Educational Award in various nominations in the field of information technologies.
