RAU Students Presented the Best Written Submission at Mock Arbitration Competition
Students of Russian-Armenian University majoring in Law Edgar Azatyan, Mane Avagyan and Hovhannes Bayanduryan participated in the VII Mock Arbitration Competition, which took place at the American University of Armenia on March 23-24. The competition was supported by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
The Mock Arbitration Competition had two rounds – oral and written, and gathered 9 teams from leading Armenian universities. The invited arbitrators comprised legal practitioners and professors of law from different Armenian universities.
RAU students, trained by Satenik Harutyunyan, Ph.D., lecturer at the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure Law, received the award for Best Written Submission.
“We have worked really hard and prepared a lot of sources. In our written submission, we looked not only into the Armenian legislation, but also legal practice of Switzerland, international conventions, decisions of the judiciary, international legal enactments, etc. and correctly implement them”, confided Mane Avagyan.
The students also highlighted that mock trials were a great opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge from studies in practice.
