RAU Partners up with Teach For Armenia
On February 27, Rector of Russian-Armenian University (RAU) Prof. Armen Darbinyan and Founder and CEO of Teach For Armenia Larisa Hovannisian signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
As RAU Rector mentioned, the Memorandum will give the best graduates of RAU an opportunity to become involved in the activities of Teach For Armenia, in particular, they will be able to join the teaching program at Armenian schools in regions with a shortage of specialists.
“I am grateful to Teach For Armenia for launching and implementing such a wonderful initiative, for succeeding to bring together bright Armenian young people around an important goal. Russian-Armenian University is gladly joining this mission. I believe that young people committed to working in schools are remarkable”, said Prof. Darbinyan.
The parties agreed on the significance of establishing cooperation between Teach For Armenia and RAU and expressed full confidence that the partnership will be beneficial for both sides.
Larisa Hovannisian in her turn highlighted, “We are grateful to Russian-Armenian University for recognition of our efforts and support. Together with RAU graduates, we will do our best to continue making positive changes in Armenia”.
The agreement entails RAU alumni active participation in the work of the fund, as well as organization and promotion of joint projects and events in the field of education. The MoU becomes effective from the moment of signing and will remain in effect for 10 years.
