RAU Students Received RA State IT Awards
The students of Russian-Armenian University, who demonstrated outstanding academic results in the field of technology, received 2018 Republic of Armenia State Educational Award in Information Technologies.
Vakhtang Janpoladov, RAU student in Electronics and Nanoelectronics, won in the nomination Best Bachelor Student of the 1st degree; Narek Abelyan, RAU student in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics, won in the nomination Best Bachelor Student of the 2nd degree; Yuri Bleyan, RAU student in Electronics and Nanoelectronics received Best Master’s Student of 2nd degree; Irena Danglyan, Ph.D. student in Physics of Semiconductors, became Best Ph.D. Student of the 1st degree; Harutyun Sahakyan, Ph.D. student in Mathematical Biology, Bioinformatics, won in the nomination Best Ph.D. Student of the 2nd degree; Hayk Aslanyan, Ph.D. student in Mathematical and Software Support of Computing Machinery, Suites and Computer Network, received Best Ph.D. Student of the 2nd degree. Along with certificates, the students received memorabilia and monetary awards.
The RA State Educational IT Award ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s residence on October 23. The winners were awarded in the Best PhD, Best Master, Best Bachelor and Best Student nominations by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan personally.
Nikol Pashinyan addressed the winners by saying, “I wish you to develop this success throughout your professional career. Our society believes that the IT sector should boast progressive developmental to become one of the key pillars of our knowledge-based economy. It is conditioned not only by the lack of natural resources in our country, but also by the need to keep pace with the modern world”.
This year, 25 university students and 18 school students from 6 higher educational institutions and 8 high schools were awarded with the annual State Educational Award. The award recipients are traditionally selected in two rounds: first, a specialized committee assesses their academic performance and then determiners the winners through individual interviews. So far, 489 students have been awarded with the RA State Educational IT Award in various nominations in the field of information technologies.
