NEWSRAU Ranks A+ in ARES Rankings

RAU Ranks A+ in the Academic Ranking of World Universities: European Standard (ARES)

Russian-Armenian University achieved its highest overall rating of the past years with A+ in the Academic Ranking of World Universities: European Standard (ARES) released in May 2019.
This year, among the 32 Armenian universities featured in the ranking 3 Armenian universities passed the grade A, while RAU has significantly improved its position and now shares the A+ ranking with YSU.
ARES is a unique ranking of world universities as it automatically rates the educational, scientific and innovation activities of universities. The University Ranking is compiled by the European Scientific Industrial Chamber, located in Brussels, Belgium, to determine university performance in teaching and research according to the European standards applied to higher educational institutions. Their set of criteria include such factors as education, research, innovation infrastructure, social and economic impact and collaboration with potential employers.
Each university’s score has been calculated through five values: A - High-Quality Performance, B - Good Quality Performance, C - Adequate Quality Performance, D - Major deficiencies detected, F - Failure to offer quality education and research.
This year, Russian-Armenian University exceled due to the prominent research results and published papers by academic staff, their participation in conferences and other scientific events, as well as university’s growing international activity”, said Head of RAU Department of International Cooperation Ms. Svetlana Mashuryan.
What makes ARES as a ranking system important is that it strives to make the ranking process transparent and eliminate the human factor, which makes it trustworthy for students, academics and public authorities. US News & World Report, The Times Higher Education and QS Top Universities cross reference ARES before publishing their final rankings.
