“Armenia and the World: Building a Sustainable Future”

    The online summer school brought together thirty young experts, professionals and representatives of the Armenian Diaspora from more than ten countries worldwide, including but limited to Russia, United States, India, Austria, Belgium, Lebanon, and so on. 

    From July 27 to August 12, 2020 the online summer school “Armenia and the World: Building a Sustainable Future” took place at the virtual platform of the Russian-Armenian University. The School was organized by the Department of World Politics and International Relations of the Russian-Armenian University. 
     
    The online summer school brought together thirty young experts, professionals and representatives of the Armenian Diaspora from more than ten countries worldwide, including but limited to Russia, United States, India, Austria, Belgium, Lebanon, and so on. 
     
    For thirteen days the participants received an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge on Armenia's foreign policy priorities, interests, as well as strategic security environment in the South Caucasus and beyond. 
     
    The online summer school was opened by a keynote speech of the rector of the Russian-Armenian University, Professor Armen Darbinyan, and continued by the opening meeting with the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian.
     
    The second day was marked with a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan and Professor of Social Research and Public Policy at the New York University, Abu Dhabi Georgi Derluguian.
     
    The school was followed by interactive meetings and discussions with the decision-makers and leading experts from Armenia and Artsakh. Particularly, the participants met with the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Artsakh David Babayan, Advisor to the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Rouben Karapetyan, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Political Science and International Affairs at the American University of Armenia Vahram Ter-Matevosyan, Expert at Orbeli Center Johnny Melikyan, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia Nazeli Navasardyan, Chairperson of the Department of World Politics and International Relations at Russian-Armenian  University Ruben Elamiryan, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Abrahamyan, Advisor to the deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mane Adamyan, Founder and Managing Director at "China-Eurasia" Council for Political and Strategic Research Mher Sahakyan, Co-founder and Executive Director of RepatArmenia Foundation Vartan Marashlyan. 
     
    At the closing ceremony, Professor Darbinyan delivered a lecture entitled “Armenia and the Future”, which was followed by an open discussion and feedback session with the participants.
