Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets Discussed at RAU

    The roundtable discussion was dedicated to relevant issues in the development of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technologies, and the regulation of digital assets in Armenia and internationally.

    A roundtable discussion titled Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets: Regulation, Technologies, and the Future of Finance was held at RAU on February 26.  The discussion focused on relevant issues in the development of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technologies, and the regulation of digital assets in Armenia and internationally.

    The event brought together representatives of the academic community, regulators, the fintech industry, IT entrepreneurs, lawyers, and students for an open dialogue on the transformation of the financial system in the context of digitalization.

    Guests and speakers of the roundtable discussion considered various approaches to cryptocurrency regulation in Armenia, the EAEU, and other jurisdictions, as well as the role of central banks and supervisory bodies. They discussed global trends in the cryptocurrency and digital assets market, the practical application of blockchain in finance, business, and the public sector, as well as issues of compliance, AML/KYC, and investor protection. Special attention was paid to the prospects of education and workforce training in the fields of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and fintech.

    It should be noted that the roundtable discussion was organized by the RAU Chair of Economics and Finance in cooperation with Payin, a subsidiary of Incore Armenia.
