RAU Rector Edward Sandoyan awarded Distinction Badge of Merit by Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University

    The award was presented by Rector of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Rudskoy within the scope of the celebration of the university’s anniversary.

    Rector of the Russian-Armenian University, doctor of Economic Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, Professor Edward Sandoyan was awarded the Distinction Badge of Merit by Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for significant contribution to the development of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The award was presented by the Rector of that university, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Rudskoy as part of the celebration of the university’s anniversary.
     
    It should be noted that 125 years ago, on February 19, 1899, Emperor Nicholas II signed a decree about the establishment of the Polytechnic Institute in St. Petersburg. The university will be celebrating this date throughout the year. February 17 saw the celebration of the party for the graduates and the Rector’s Ball. And February 19 was marked by the beginning of the anniversary events in the university’s home church, the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, after which a ceremonial meeting of the University Academic Council took place.
