A round table dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding German thinker Immanuel Kant "Historical and modern significance of Kant's philosophy" was held at the Russian-Armenian University on April 29.

 

The participants of the event discussed the relevance of the philosophy of Kant's ideas for understanding and solving the problems faced by humanity in the XXI century. 

 

"This is a very important event, because it gave the representatives of various fields an opportunity to share their opinions, as well as discuss the modern interpretations of Kant, the philosopher's influence on modernity and modern philosophical thought. We have shown his relevance and that he remains, as it were, an active philosopher, despite the fact that 300 years have passed since his birth," said Gagik Galikyan, moderator of the round table, Head of the Philosophy Department.  

The round table covered three thematic areas: "I. Kant and the Constructivist Approach in Epistemology", "Freedom, Consent and Eternal Peace: Kant's Political Philosophy", and "Why the Moral Justification Enlightenment Project was Doomed: Kant's Moral and Practical Philosophy.”

 

It should be noted that the round table was organized by the Department of Philosophy of the Institute of Humanities of RAU.
