Exogenous and Endogenous Factors of Economic Growth in the Context of a New Ecopolitical Reality Discussed at RAU

Among the main speakers was director of the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Alexander Shirov.

A round table on the topic "Exogenous and Endogenous Factors of Economic Growth in the Context of a New Geopolitical Reality" was held at the Russian-Armenian University on June 3.

The event was opened by RAU Rector, Doctor of Economics of the RA and the Russian Federation, Professor Edward Sandoyan, emphasizing the importance of scientific analysis of the economic transformations taking place in the world. According to him, the university strives to be an active research platform for discussing current challenges of our times and developing professional approaches to understanding them.

The meeting was moderated by Head of the Department of Economics and Finance of the RAU, Doctor of Economics, associate professor Mariam Voskanyan. Among the main speakers was Director of the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor Alexander Shirov, who presented the report "Transformation of the World Economy: Opportunities and Limitations for the Post-Soviet Countries."

Alexander Shirov has noted that the world is experiencing a transition from one stage of globalization to another. This process is both evolutionary and revolutionary. Despite the widespread opinion that the era of globalization is over, it continues, yet under new conditions. At the same time, the global economy no longer plays its former role as the main source of global growth, which is especially noticeable in the stagnation of the share of exports after the 2008-2009 crisis. In addition, there is a steady decline in the efficiency of investments in applied research and technological developments, a trend that has persisted over the past decades and, according to forecasts, can only intensify.

RAU Rector Edward Sandoyan, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance of RAU Mariam Voskanyan and associate professor Ani Galstyan also delivered a report, presenting a study on the topic "Analysis and Assessment of the Channels of Influence of the Russian Economy on the Macroeconomic Environment of Armenia in Retrospect."

It should be noted that the round table was organized by the Department of Economics and Finance of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the financial support of the Committee on Higher Education and Science of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the scientific project on the topic "Exogenous and Endogenous Factors of Economic Growth in the Republic of Armenia in the Context of the New Geopolitical Reality" (Scientific project No. 24SSAH-5B004).
