Head of RAU Department of Economics and Finance Mariam Voskanyan discussed the risks and benefits of investments by Russian companies in the Armenian economy
Mariam Voskanyan participated in the XI Annual Conference on Global Economy 'Re-balancing of the Global Economy: iIn Search of New Models for Global Development'.
At the invitation of the Department of Global Economy, Faculty of World Economy and World Politics at HSE University, head of the Department of Economics and Finance at Russian-Armenian University Mariam Voskanyan participated in the XI Annual Conference on Global Economy 'Re-balancing of the Global Economy: in Search of New Models for Global Development'. The conference took place in Moscow on November 29-30.

‘Currently, investments by Russian companies in the Armenian economy tend to be short-term and sporadic. There is a lack of consistency and direction in the incoming investments in sectors of the economy that could ensure high rates of economic growth. An appropriate investment policy is necessary. This is the issue which our further research will be dedicated to,’ - Mariam Voskanyan highlighted.
It should be noted that the XI Annual Conference on Global Economy featured discussions across four sessions: 'Between Inflation, financial instability, and debt: the nature of economic growth in the post-crisis world,' 'The great reconfiguration: how is the geography of trade and investment flows changing?,' 'Lost illusions: in search of new approaches to sustainable development,' and 'Movement along the development ladder: how is the Asian economy changing?'
