The forum brought together more than 120 students from Armenia and Russia.
The largest "Russian-Armenian Media Forum: the View of Youth" started at the Russian-Armenian University on October 24. The forum brought together more than 120 students from Armenia and Russia.
The guests and participants of the event were greeted by the Rector of the RAU, Doctor of Economics of the RA and the Russian Federation, Professor Edward Sandoyan: "Difficult times teach us that friendship is formed between specific people and it is on the basis of such relations that long-term ties between states and peoples are possible."
He urged the students to use these two days to make new friends, share ideas and strengthen ties between our countries.
“The task of the forum is to unite active young media professionals interested in maintaining and strengthening historical ties between our peoples, and the talented youth of Russia and Armenia could always find a common language and solve problems together in the interests of our countries and the whole world. Of course, the agenda of scientific and educational cooperation plays a special role in this process, which needs to be widely and competently covered. The Russian-Armenian University, which hosts our forum, occupies a key place in this cooperation," Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, said in a video greeting.
The event was attended by the Honorary guest of the forum - Secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia, Chairman of the Media Congress "Commonwealth of Journalists" Ashot Jazoyan. He not only gave a welcoming speech, but also held a special master class for the forum participants today, and tomorrow he will demonstrate the film "Petersburg! Life in the city."
Alexander Novikov, Adviser to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Armenia, Victoria Deripaska, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Armenia, and Andrey Tolmachev, Director of the Department of Information Policy and Integrated Security of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, also delivered welcoming messages at the grand opening of the media forum.
"I would like to say a special thank you to the organizers. Although acute topics are being discussed, the tasks facing the guys relate to the good and bright, the present," Tolmachev shared.
In turn, Chairman of the National Commission on Television and Radio of Armenia Tigran Hakobyan highlighted the importance and relevance of holding such events: "The forum is important in our time, in the era of propaganda, which can be called in different ways: the era of post-truth, fakes. However, propaganda can also be positive — if we are talking about healthy, kind and bright. It is precisely such meanings that need to be created here, within the framework of the forum”.
Director of the Center for Public Relations and Information of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Gor Tsarukyan, in turn, highlighted: "Despite the difficult geopolitical situation, it is extremely important to maintain and deepen human ties and professional cooperation. This applies not only to Armenia-Russia relations, but is also necessary for international cooperation in general. This event is an important step towards strengthening media, educational and socio-cultural ties between the youth of our countries."
It should be noted that the forum was organized by the RAU Journalism Department in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. A large group of young Russian journalists arrived in Yerevan, as well as a delegation from the Ministry.
Following the results of the forum, creative teams of young journalists from the two countries will prepare media materials on Russian-Armenian relations.
