RAU Lecturers Complete Professional Retraining Program

The program was focused on in-depth development of data analysis tools using the Python programming language in the context of economic research.

The lecturers of the Russian-Armenian University officially completed the professional retraining program and received certificates on May 29. The educational course was implemented in cooperation with the Higher School of Engineering and Economics of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

The retraining program was a logical continuation of the advanced training course completed by the RAU lecturers last year. It was focused on in-depth mastery of data analysis tools using the Python programming language in the context of economic research.

As noted by Head of the Department of Economics and Finance of the RAU, Doctor of Economics, associate professor Mariam Voskanyan, following the first course, the students realized that advanced training alone was not enough, since the number of training hours was limited: "Therefore, we decided to continue training at a deeper level, this time within the framework of retraining. This allowed us to significantly expand our knowledge and master practical skills in using Python in research activities."

The classes were held remotely during the fall and early winter of the 2024-2025 academic year. The course participants studied modern methods of building economic models, analyzing data, and visualizing results using the Python language.

The course instructor, Evgeny Konnikov, highly praised the involvement and interest of the students: "You are the only group with whom it was not just easy to work, but with whom it was truly pleasant and desirable to work. Thank you very much! I will be sincerely glad if I have the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and skills to you again."

It should be noted that the training of RAU lecturers was free of charge, at the expense of the state assignment of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. This became possible thanks to active cooperation between the universities.
