RAU and International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia deepen cooperation

    RAU and ICRC will continue joint work, aimed at increasing interest and qualification among students and professors in the sphere of international public law and international humanitarian law.

    Rector of the Russian-Armenian University, Professor Armen Darbinyan and head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Armenia Thierry Ribot signed a memorandum of understanding on May 5.
     
    "We have been cooperating very effectively for more than 10 years and have jointly created such a platform in the field of international humanitarian law, which brings together the best specialists from European countries, and, of course, young people. Every year we hold joint conferences, which are very important for both the university community and the professional one. In general, the development of international law in Armenia is largely due to our fruitful cooperation.And I am grateful to the Armenian representation of the Red Cross and, of course, to the headquarters in Geneva for cooperation, for the quality that we have managed to create over the years", - Professor Darbinyan emphasized, expressing hope for further productive interaction.
     
    In his turn, the head of the International Committee of Red Cross in Armenia Thierry Ribot mentioned the weighty value of development of international humanitarian law in RA.
     
    According to the memorandum, RAU and ICRC will continue joint work, aimed at increasing interest and qualification among students and professors in the sphere of international public law, international humanitarian law, as well as formation of a strong school of lawyers in the given spheres.
