Armenian Universities Name their Top Students: 7 RAU Students Awarded the Moscow Mayor’s Scholarship

The program annually supports students whose language of education is Russian, with a high level of academic achievement and an active role in both public and university life.

The meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Moscow Mayor’s Scholarship program in Armenia was held at the Moscow House in Yerevan on June 23. Following the results of the 2024-2025 winter examination session, 15 scholarship recipients from 6 universities across the country were selected. Among them were seven students of the Russian-Armenian University (RAU).

The program, which is implemented in several countries, supports students whose language of education is Russian, with a high level of academic achievement and an active role in both public and university life. It helps young compatriots reveal their scientific and professional potential.

The meeting was chaired by the program’s representative in Armenia, Armine Tyutyundzhyan. Participating universities included: Yerevan State University, Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University, Brusov State University, Vanadzor State University, Shirak State University, and the Russian-Armenian University.

Candidates were nominated by the curators, who highlighted not only their academic performance but also their involvement in scientific, volunteer, and cultural activities. Among the scholarship recipients was Amalia Amirkhanyan, an RAU student majoring in Management:

“The Moscow Mayor’s Scholarship is an important initiative that provides real support to young professionals. It is not merely financial incentive but also motivation to move on, to develop ideas, and to grow both as a professional and as an individual. I am sincerely grateful to the organizers and the university administration for their trust and support. This scholarship has become an additional impetus for me to continue my research and believe in my own abilities.”

The meeting concluded with a vote to approve the final list of scholarship recipients.
