According to the results of the first round of the XVI International Olympiad on Intellectual Property for high school students, Samvel Aghababyan, a student of ‘Usmunk’ school of RAU, became the winner in the nomination for ‘Promotion of Legal Culture in Creative Industries’ and the finalist of the Olympiad. The student's work was written and presented under the guidance of Ani Davtyan, lecturer of the RAU Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure Law.

More than 4,200 schoolchildren from different countries took part in the first stage. Samvel was among 13 finalists whose high level of preparation and involvement in the field of intellectual property was unanimously recognised by the expert committee.

The final round of the XVI International Olympiad on Intellectual Property for high school students was held at the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property on 24 April, on the eve of the World Intellectual Property Day.

"This is an international Olympiad which gives an opportunity to dive into intellectual property law. Samvel's work was quite good, with a high level of originality, so he made it to the final,” shared Ani Davtyan.

It should be noted that the Olympiad is supported by the Eurasian Patent Office, the representative office of the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Russia, the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property. The aim of the project is to popularize knowledge about intellectual property among young people, to involve more high schoolers and graduates of professional educational institutions in the field of intellectual property, to assist in the professional orientation of future university applicants, etc.
