The International scientific and practical conference “Modern criminal law: the interaction of theory and practice”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the department of criminal law and criminal procedure law of RAU, started in Russian-Armenian University on the 31st of May. 

Vice-rector of Science of RAU, professor Pargev Avetisyan, greeted the guests and participants of the event: “This is a great conference dedicated to the problems of modern criminal law, tendencies of development and priorities of the criminal policy. I would like to assure you that not only in Armenia but also throughout all post-Soviet space, the graduates of this department are highly respected.”

Rector of Yaroslavl P. Demidov State University Artem Ivanchin, in turn, congratulated the head of the department of criminal law and criminal procedure law Naira Zohrabyan, awarding her with the YarSU medal.

 

“The department has brought together unique, unprecedented professional personnel, which synthesizes fundamental legal knowledge and rich law enforcement experience”,- he underlined. 

President of Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia Arman Dilanyan wished the participants productive work and constructive discussions. 

More than 40 people took part in the conference. These were lawyers, scientists and professors from Armenia and Russia. Guests and speakers discussed issues of forming the criminal policy of Russia and Armenia and improving criminal law, as well as problems of international cooperation in the field of forensic activities, among other topics.  

It should be mentioned that the event is organized by Russian-Armenian University (by the department of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law) jointly with Yaroslavl P. Demidov State University.
