On the initiative of RAU, a cycling championship was held in Yerevan
The event was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, encouraging physical activity and youth participation in sports initiatives.
On the initiative of the Russian-Armenian University and with the support of the Armenian Cycling Federation, an mateur nationwide cycling championship for youth was held in Yerevan on November 8.
RAU professors, including Armen Grigoryan, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Healthy Lifestyle, were there to support the students.
"Today, cycling is one of the most popular Olympic sports. It has a beneficial effect on the body, as it engages the entire muscular system. Cycling develops the spirit of teamwork, determination, and the desire to win. The motivation behind it is a healthy lifestyle and the accessibility of this sport for people of different ages and build. Today, the bicycle is an excellent means of transportation," Grigoryan shared.
In his turn, Grigor Hambardzumyan, deputy head of the Armenian Cycling Federation, emphasized that the federation stands ready to support such initiatives that contribute to the development of cycling among young people, the promotion of an active lifestyle, and the involvement of students in sporting events.
On behalf of RAU Rector Edward Sandoyan, the federation was presented with a letter of appreciation for its support and active assistance in the development of student sports.
The winners were awarded by the Rector's Advisor on Youth Affairs, HripsimeMargaryan, and the Rector's Advisor on Organizational Issues, retired police lieutenant colonel Marta Meliksetyan.
It should be noted that the event was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, encouraging physical activity, and youth participation in sports initiatives.
