Director of Department State Youth Policy and Educational Activity of the Ministry of Education and Science RF Dmitriy Pokrovskiy, Head of Department of the Branch Artyom Phomin and the Program Manager of Youth and Student Tourism Svetlana Nexorosheva arrived at Russian-Armenian University on June 26. 

The  guests were welcomed by RAU Rector, PhD in Economics professor Edward Sandoyan. 

“RAU in Armenia is the very center that coordinates, represents and accompanies all events, the ideas of scientific, public and political nature, which are connected with the strengthening and further development of Armenian-Russian relations”, he noted.

In his turn, the director of Department State Youth Policy and Educational Activity Ministry of Education and Science RF Dmitriy Pokrovskiy emphasized: “Our nations stood together in the middle of the last century, when they defended the interests of the entire world in the fight against nazism during the Great Patriotic War. We went through many trials together and continue to be together. The Student Tourism program is unique in that young people from Armenia will have the opportunity to see the scientific, cultural and other achievements of Russia."

Svetlana Nexorosheva presented the project and mentioned that the Student Tourism program was launched in 2021, becoming an impetus for the development of student and youth tourism in Russia: “The program has already been used by more than 7,000 travelers, and 39,720 users are registered on the platform. I think that at the end of the month we will celebrate the anniversary.”

We would like to note that the goal of the program is to create a single platform for the cultural, professional and personal development of youth in Russia. Participants of the project can choose unique tourist programs developed in the student-to-student format, objects and routes of popular tourism, events and much more. This year the program has expanded its geography, including international destinations.
