Monograph by RAU professor Vladimir Ruzhanskij has been published

On the example of Israel the author examined the key aspects of Azerbaijan’s use of its diaspora abroad for political and military purposes, the financial component of the actions of the Azerbaijani lobby, its structure and methods.

Presentation of the monograph of the lecturer of the Department of World History and Foreign Regional Studies of the Institute of Humanities of RAU Vladimir Ruzhanskij “Azerbaijani lobby of Israel: genesis, resources, and main directions of activity” took place in Russian-Armenian University on March 14.

The monograph “Azerbaijani lobby of Israel: genesis, resources, and main directions of activity” refers to applied research in political science and directly concerns the international relations sphere. On the example of Israel the author examined the key aspects of Azerbaijan’s use of its diaspora abroad for political and military purposes, the financial component of the actions of the Azerbaijani lobby, its structure and methods.

“We must demonstrate maximum efforts for revival of the Armenians in Israel so that it acts in our interests,- RAU rector, professor Armen Darbinyan noted at the presentation of the book.-Because Israel is a country that participates in global settlement issues and has tremendous influence thanks to its strategy towards the diaspora”.

As the head of the Department of World History and Foreign Regional Studies of RAU, Professor Yervand Margaryan has noted, the monograph is the first research in the Armenian reality on Israeli studies: “Significantly, the author was using sources in the original language. Vladimir Ruzhanskij perfectly knows Hebrew; moreover, he is well aware of the situation in Israel. The information that is available to us in Russian and English is scarce and run through filters”.

The research may be useful in Armenia, first of all, in the case of creating effective model of interaction between RA and Armenian Diaspora abroad.

“This monograph is written by me for several reasons. First of all, I am very grateful to Armenia for accepting me as a native. My knowledge and life experience in Israel may be useful to Armenia: I am happy that I can be useful in this blessed country. Second, I consider this research being important specifically today, when Armenia experiences one of the most dramatic moments in its history. Finally, third, I see necessity in rapprochement of our great nations-Armenians and Jews who have many common things both in their destiny, and by their impact on world civilization, - Vladimir Ruzhanskij shared. – This monograph has an applied character. Its aim is to give to readership a better understanding of the Israeli reality, to show ways of neutralization of hostile influence in this country and effective interaction between our nations”.

It should be noted that in the near future a collective monograph on activity of Azerbaijani lobby in Russia, Israel, Iran, France, and Italy will be published by department of world history and foreign regional studies of Rau with the involvement of foreign authors.
