RAU hosted a round table "Women in politics and diplomacy"

    The best works, presented within the round table will be recommended to be published.

    On March 15, in the new building of the Russian-Armenian University, a round table "Women in Politics and Diplomacy" was held, organized by the Department of World Politics and International Relations of the RAU.
     
    Today, despite the current agenda, the issue of gender stereotypes is still acutely relevant in our country and beyond.
     
    The participants of the round table considered the role of women in the prism of the work of state structures, discussed their participation in diplomacy and the political life of the country, the factor of women diplomats in international relations, etc.
     
    The invited guests and participants of the round table were greeted by the RAU rector, Professor Armen Darbinyan, emphasizing the importance of the chosen topic.
     
    The First Defender for Human Rights of the RA, Associate Professor of the Department of International and European Law Larisa Alaverdyan, Minister-Envoy, Advisor to the Department of Europe of the RA MFA Lilit Tutkhalyan and an employee of the RA MFA, a graduate of the Department of World Politics and International Relations of RAU Meri Adamyan spoke at the panel session. They talked about their career paths and shared advice with young specialists in the sphere of politics and diplomacy. Professors and students of RAU also made presentations within the frames of the general session. The moderator of the event became professor and postgraduate student of RAU Ruzanna Hayrapetova.
     
    According to the organizers, the aim of holding the round table was drawing attention to the rising role of women in politics and diplomacy, as well as discussing opportunities and challenges of women in international relations.
     
    It should be noted that the best works, presented within the round table “Women in politics and diplomacy” will be recommended to be published.
