“Physics Problem Collection: Mechanics” Presented at RAU
The book was authored by Eduard Kazaryan, Gagik Melikyan, and Sos Mayilyan.
The presentation of "Physics Problem Collection: Mechanics", a textbook designed for high school students, took place at the Russian-Armenian University on October 29. The book was authored by Eduard Kazaryan, Gagik Melikyan, and Sos Mayilyan.
RAU Rector, Professor Edward Sandoyan, welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of high-quality educational materials in Armenian for improving students’ academic preparation. He noted that the university had distributed copies of the book to 120 schools across Armenia.
Professor Eduard Kazaryan, President of the Armenian Academy of Pedagogical and Psychological Sciences and Chief Scientific Advisor to RAU, presented the book. Designed for 10th-grade students, it contains 990 problems covering all mechanics topics included in the school curriculum.
The collection aims to help students consolidate their knowledge, develop logical thinking, and strengthen their problem-solving skills. As Kazaryan noted, “We wanted students not simply to memorize formulas, but to learn how to think.”
The book features three difficulty levels — A, B, and C — catering to different levels of student preparation. It also includes hints and full solutions for selected problems to support independent learning. RAU Director of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and High Technologies, Aharon Aharonian, highlighted the collection’s practical value for both teachers and students. Other participants expressed hope that it would become a valuable educational resource for schools throughout Armenia.
The "Physics Problem Collection: Mechanics" has been approved for use by Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. It was published with the support of the Armenian Academy of Pedagogical and Psychological Sciences and the Russian-Armenian University.
