The online course Modern Global Economy, developed jointly by Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) and the Russian-Armenian University (RAU), is now available on Russia’s Open Education national platform.
The course explores key trends in the global economy, covering economic growth theories, the causes of global crises, factors behind national economic success, and the development experience of Asian countries. It consists of five thematic modules combining video lectures, supplementary materials, and practical assignments. Participants who successfully pass the final test receive a certificate.
RAU was represented in the project by Mariam Voskanyan, Professor and Head of the Department of Economics and Finance. The SPbPU team included Associate Professors Tatyana Mokeeva and Ksenia Evseeva from the Higher School of Engineering and Economics.
The initiative was implemented within the framework of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s Slavic Universities programme, marking another step in strengthening academic cooperation between the two universities.
The course is free of charge, taught in Russian, and intended for students of economics and management, lecturers, researchers, and anyone interested in the global economy.
