In April of this year the proceedings of the XXIII All-Russian Conference on Physics of Semiconductors and Nanostructures, Semiconductor Opto- and Nanoelectronics for Young Scientists were published. A collection of articles based on the materials of this conference was published in a separate volume in the journal "Journal of Physics: Conference Series", co-edited by the director of the RAU Institute of Engineering and Physics, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Hayk Sargsyan. In addition to Professor Sarkisyan, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Robert Suris and Professors Dmitry Firsov and Vadim Shalygin became editors.

XXIII All-Russian Conference on Physics of Semiconductors and Nanostructures, Semiconductor Opto- and Nanoelectronics is the most important scientific event in this field. Among the leading universities in Russia are Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Academic University.  Zh.I.  Alferov, Physico-Technical Institute. A.F.Ioffe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg State University, the Russian-Armenian University also became the organizer of the conference. Not only did RAU actively take part in organization, but also in holding the conference. The head of the RAU institute of Engineering and Physics Hayk Sargsyan was included in the programmatic and organizational committee, presenting several reports on poster and oral sections.

“Such scientific collaboration indicates once again the strengthening bonds of RAU and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University within the strategic cooperation in the sphere of physics semiconductors and nanostructures”,- mentioned Professor Sargsyan.

It should be noted that XXIII conference for young scientists was dedicated to such actively developing branches of solid state physics and electronics, semiconductors and nanostructure, opto- and nanoelectronics. Reports, according to the results of both experimental and theoretical research were heard on the conference.
