Representatives of RAU Spoke at the LXVIII Session of the Russian-French Seminar of the IEF RAS

    The session was organized by the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences in collaboration with the Centre d’Études des Modes d’Industrialisation.

    Head of the Department of Economics and Finance, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Mariam Voskanyan; Head of the Department of Economic Theory and Issues of Transition Period Economies at RAU, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Irina Petrosyan; PhD in Economics, Senior Lecturer Garik Petrosyan; PhD in Economics, Senior Lecturer Heghine Petrosyan and Lecturer Zinavard Papyan spoke at the LXVIII session of the Russian-French seminar. The session was organized by the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia) in collaboration with the Centre d’Études des Modes d’Industrialisation (Paris, France) on January 28.  Karen Markaryan, Director of the Institute of Media, Advertising and Cinema at RAU, also took part in the seminar.
     
    As part of the seminar, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance, Mariam Voskanyan, presented a report on the topic “Monetary and Fiscal Policy: Dominance or Coordination? The Case of Armenia.”
     
    “The seminar itself was dedicated to assessing the economic situation in France and Russia, as well as in the European Union and post-Soviet countries, the impact of budgetary, monetary, and fiscal policies on economic development, and the development of the situation in the global economy in the context of the recent BRICS summit in Kazan and changes in U.S. policy,” she said.
     
    The report “Study of Demographic Processes in the Republic of Armenia in the Context of their Impact on Potential Economic Growth,” presented by the research team of the Department of Economic Theory and Issues of Transition Period Economies, focused on the key demographic challenges in Armenia that negatively affect the potential of the economy and prospective economic growth rates, serving as their main limiters.
     
    It should be noted that the report was prepared as part of the implementation of two projects by the team of the HESC RA (“Study of Exogenous Shocks and Mechanisms for Overcoming Economic Growth Constraints in the Republic of Armenia” and “Macroeconomic Assessment of Changes in the Potential of the Armenian Economy After 2020-2023”).
