RAU hosted literary critic, associate professor of the School of Philology at the Faculty of Humanities of the Higher School of Economics, and Head of the Project Laboratory for the Development of Intellectual Competitions in the Humanities Mikhail Pavlovets.

On March 25, at RAU, literary critic, PhD in Philology, Associate professor of the School of Philology at the Faculty of Humanities of the Higher School of Economics, Head of the Project Laboratory for the Development of Intellectual Competitions in the Humanities Mikhail Pavlovets gave an open lecture on the work of one of the most outstanding representatives of the Lianozovo School and Russian neo-Avant-garde G. Sapgir.

“I’m very glad that the lecture is taking place in spring of all seasons, and in the auditorium named after Dmitry Likhachev. Hopefully, this is not our last meeting, and we will be able to create an ongoing series of such informative lectures; modern poetry is rarely included in the curriculum of higher institutions, whereas it’s valuable and essential for philologists and those interested in literature,” Lilit Meliksetyan, Head of the Department of Russian and World Literature and Culture of the RAU, shared.

Mikhail Pavlovets is the author of more than 250 publications on the history of Russian literature of the XX century, including poetic avant-garde, uncensored literature, the modern literary process, as well as chapters of school and university textbooks and works on the history of literary education in Russia.

“This is my first time at Russian-Armenian University, but I have heard a lot about it. My colleagues have already spoken here. For today's lecture, I have chosen a topic that is related to one of my research interests. And more recently, a four-volume collection of the works of the poet Genrikh Sapgir has been published, in the preparation of which I took part. I have brought this collection of works and I want to present it to the department, as well as tell you about the poet himself and other poets of the Lianozovo group,” Mikhail Pavlovets shared.

It should be noted that the lecture was organized by the Department of Russian and World Literature and Culture of the RAU.
