A volume timed to the anniversary of academician Eduard Ghazaryan was published by the Springer publishing house

The volume includes works of the IX International Symposium “Optics & its Application 2022”.

Springer publishing house dedicated volume N281 from the series of books "Springer Proceedings in Physics" to the 80th anniversary of academician of National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, senior academic adviser of RAU, Eduard Ghazaryan. The volume includes works of the IX International Symposium “Optics & its Application 2022”. David Blaschke (University of Wroclaw), Dmitry Firsov (St. Petersburg Polytechnic University), Aram Papoyan (Institute for Physical Research) and Hayk Sargsyan (RAU) served as the editors of the volume.

“The topic "Optics & its Applications 2022" was selected so that the main part of works would be close to the research conducted by academician Ghazaryan during his long scientific activity”, - director of RAU Institute of Engineering and Physics, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, Professor Hayk Sargsyan noted.

In the words of Sargsyan, the publication of such a book is quite a serious process.

“Springer is one of the most authoritative scientific publishers in the world. Books of the series are indexed by Scopus and are quite popular”, - he said.

The collection encompasses articles on optics of nanostructures, nonlinear optics, electrooptics and structures with several particles. All the works have been reviewed twice; the collection comprises 15 articles.

It should be highlighted that scientific articles are preceded with a paper dedicated to the scientific activity of academician Eduard Ghazaryan.

The symposium "Optics & its Applications” has long become a traditional and internationally significant event. Thus, plenary sessions took place as part of IX Symposium, with leading scientists from Russia, Italy, Armenia, Poland and Germany, as well as special sessions with the participation of invited SPIE lecturers, scientists from the USA and France. A special session on the popularization of science was held by Andrey Varlamov, Professor of Tor Vergata University.

“The direction taken by the Russian-Armenian University towards highlighting the scientific component as key and culture-forming should be continued, since at the modern stage of the development of the education system, science and education complement each other and form an integral part of the common scheme,” - Sargsyan assured.

It should be noted that Springer is an international publishing company specializing in the publication of academic journals and books on natural science. 70 publishing houses currently operate in the company across the world.
