“Much is yet to be done. I know the great potential of the Kyrgyz economy, the availability of all the necessary prerequisites for development and, unfortunately, the insufficient level of investments. Investments come through several channels. The first and most important one is the human factor. In this regard, I consider your, our and all Russian-national universities to be the greatest wealth for our peoples, for our countries. We prepare modern individuals here on the basis of high Russian standards of education, with the direct involvement of relevant Russian structures and universities,” —  said RAU rector Professor Edward Sandoyan in his welcoming speech.

The international scientific and practical conference has become the venue for a comprehensive discussion of the problems and prospects of the integration of education and science between the CIS countries. In the plenary session, the report “RAU as a successful university making a significant contribution to the integration processes in the field of education and science in the CIS” was delivered by RAU vice-rector for international cooperation Sergey Kapinos.

On the same day, guests and speakers took part in the international round table “The Russian language in the CIS: problems and prospects” and considered the key aspects of the functioning of the Russian language in the scientific and educational space in the CIS countries, bilingualism as a norm of modern communication in world practice and the CIS, the issues of methodology of teaching Russian as a non-native language, among others. Head of the rector's office Serine Misisyan shared the experience of the Russian-Armenian University in the popularization of the Russian language and culture.

Besides, a separate round table was dedicated to the topic of “Competitiveness of the university in the labor market and educational services. Experience of applying the acquired knowledge and skills.” The participants discussed the possibilities of effective market behavior of universities. Acting head of the Department of Educational Policy and Quality Control of Education Ruzanna Hayrapetova shared the educational activities of RAU with the colleagues.

A significant event within the framework of the anniversary events was also the holding of the Kyrgyz-Russian Media Forum, which was attended, among others, by RAU students.

It should be noted that the purpose of the anniversary events is to disclose the results of the university's activities over the 30-year history of its existence, which were established by the decision of the Governments of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in 1993, and to determine the prospects for development.
