RAU and Union of Banks of Armenia Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

The parties plan to organize and conduct joint open classes, workshops and professional discussions, as well as carry out collaborative research projects, among others.

On February 21, Russian-Armenian University and the Union of Banks of Armenia signed a memorandum of cooperation which will allow setting up important educational and research initiatives. The document was signed by RAU Rector Professor Armen Darbinyan and Executive Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) Seyran Sargsyan.

“Apart from the educational vector, we would like to increase our research efforts, and it is important for the research to be undertaken not with our own resources, but rather for us to ensure an impartial, objective approach, which is possible precisely because of the cooperation with the university. Besides, it is important to make the results accessible to the public. We would also like to be given guidelines on scientific publications and told what is needed and required. We intend to initiate the process of organizing special advanced training courses together with universities for employees of the banking system," Seyran Sargsyan highlighted.

Rector Armen Darbinyan noted that all the proposals are certainly interesting for RAU, with the university having a dissertation council and specialized departments.
Director of the Institute of Economics and Business Edward Sandoyan, in his turn, emphasized the readiness of the entire team to cooperate, assuring that RAU provides daily communication with banks and is constantly working with the banking system.

It should be mentioned that according to the memorandum, during the process of developing and carrying out educational programs related to the financial and banking sector, RAU will engage experienced representatives of the Union of Banks of Armenia and UBA member banks. RAU students will have the opportunity to undergo training and a research internship at the UBA.

In addition, the parties plan to organize and conduct joint open classes, workshops and professional discussions as well as carry out collaborative research projects and publish educational materials.

The Memorandum comes into effect upon signature and will remain in force for an indefinite period of time.
