RAU Press-secretary took part in the workshop on information policy in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation

    More than 200 heads of press services and vice-rectors for information from 180 Russian universities, including Slavic universities from Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, gathered in Moscow to summarize the results of their work.

    More than 200 heads of press services and vice-rectors for information from 180 Russian universities, including Slavic universities from Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, gathered in Moscow to summarize the results of the year's work and outline new plans. The final workshop on information policy and comprehensive security was held on December 13-16 at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The Russian-Armenian University was represented by the university's press secretary Diana Khoderyan. 

    At the opening of the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky delivered a welcoming speech to the participants.
     
    "Now, when the renewal of the higher education system is underway and the public attention is drawn to it, you and I have a great responsibility. In this regard, a practice-oriented programme has been prepared to deal with specific cases to work out information risks, popularize science among young people and control the information environment," he said. 

    The programme of the large four-day workshop included more than 20 events: lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and business games. The participants discussed the problems of fact checking and digital hygiene, information risk management, content promotion in social media, as well as shared their experience in implementing student media projects, analyzed the tools of interaction with the journalistic community and ways of popularizing scientific achievements.

    Kutafin Moscow State Law University hosted the scientific and practical conference entitled "Higher School Information Policy: Best Practices and Development Prospects". Representatives of universities took part in the plenary session chaired by Anna Gureeva, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Policy and Integrated Security of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and in the work of six sections, which addressed student media projects, social media as a platform for communication between universities, interaction between universities and the journalistic community, and much more. The participating teams were able to demonstrate their professional skills in a business game, where they developed solutions to situations arising in the interaction of higher schools with the media.

    Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, spoke at the official closing of the final workshop.

    "Colleagues, you hold different positions, but all of you have assumed great responsibility. Solving the decade's tasks is unthinkable without your work. The more frequently and professionally you tell about the glorious achievements of Russian scientists, the activities of our scientific institutes, laboratories and universities, as well as the challenges they face in the field, the more popular this noble field will be," the Minister pointed out.

    On the final day of the workshop-conference, the regional platform of the Student Media Centre of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science was launched at the Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
