Will Robots Take Over the World? David Yang Presents 5 Possible Scenarios for the Future of AI
During the meeting, he shared his entrepreneurial journey with RAU students — from his first startups and failures to building global technology companies.
On October 2, the Russian-Armenian University hosted a master class by David Yang, a renowned entrepreneur in the field of artificial intelligence. During the meeting, he shared his entrepreneurial journey with RAU students — from his first startups and failures to building global technology companies. Yang also presented his “three magic crystals” concept for building a successful business: a deep understanding of the problem, strong technological expertise, and knowledge of distribution channels.
The key topic of the meeting was the future of AI. David Yang presented his predictions for the coming decades, discussing the possible emergence of consciousness in AI agents, rights for non-biological entities, human-machine hybrids, and the growing presence of humanoid robots.
According to Yang, by 2030–2035, around one billion humanoid robots could be produced worldwide every year, potentially bringing their total number to a level comparable with the human population.
“We cannot stop this technological revolution. A new, non-human intelligence has emerged on Earth, and our task is to learn how to coexist with it,” Yang said.
During the master class, David Yang and RAU students created and tested their own AI agent, Emily, which was also able to communicate in Armenian. Participants also got a glimpse of Yang’s AI-powered home in Silicon Valley.
The event was organized by the RAU Department of Management and Business.
David Yang is the founder of ABBYY and a technology entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he has co-founded 13 companies, including Newo.ai, iiko, and Syrve. Today, his main focus is artificial intelligence and the development of AI systems capable of solving real-world business challenges.
