RAU Received Books as Gifts from the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia

The books are intended for specialists in various fields and will facilitate the studying of the recent political history of the People's Republic of China and the fundamental positions of its diplomacy.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia Fan Yong donated a series of books to the Russian-Armenian University. The books are intended for specialists in various fields and will facilitate the studying of the recent political history of the People's Republic of China and the fundamental positions of its diplomacy.

"There are cases when you do not want to comment on official donations to the RAU Library using formal language. The long-established ties of our university with the representative offices and universities of the People's Republic of China have enabled a completely natural environment for business interaction and convergence of interests," said Artur Soghomonyan, Head of the RAU Library.

Speaking about the Library's book depository, Artur Soghomonyan emphasized that thanks to the Chinese Center for Culture and Science there is a regular and constant updating of educational and reference literature on language, history and culture: "The Confucius Class has been successfully functioning at RAU for several years now. Mutual exchange has become quite  common among students. On this general background, it would clearly not be wise to limit ourselves to educational and popular scientific information of a historical and philological nature. Developed over the years in the RAU Library, the Chinese Corner contains books and DVDs, mainly related to cultural traditions, classical literature, and events of ancient history. Much less does it provide up-to-date information about the realities of modern China. This is why the New Year's gift presented to our university by the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Fan Yong is of much interest."
