Garnik Asatryan, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, is an Honorary Member of the Iranian Academy of Sciences
This prestigious title was awarded to Professor Asatryan for his significant contribution to the development of Iranian and Oriental studies, for founding new research fields, creating a scientific school, and for his extensive scholarly and publishing activities in various fields of Oriental studies.
Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Russian-Armenian University, renowned orientalist Professor Garnik Asatryan, has been awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Iranian Academy of Sciences.
This prestigious title was awarded to Professor Asatryan for his significant contribution to the development of Iranian and Oriental studies, for founding new research fields, creating a scientific school, and for his extensive scholarly and publishing activities in various fields of Oriental studies.
Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgolami welcomed the members of the Academic Council of the Russian-Armenian University and emphasized Professor Asatryan's significant role in organizing scientific and publishing work.
"Professor Asatryan is the founder and editor-in-chief of several scholarly periodicals, including one of the most respected international journals, 'Iran and the Caucasus.' He also edits the annual 'Caucaso-Caspica: Transactions of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences' and the journal 'Studies in Caucasian-Caspian Literature,' published in Tehran jointly with the Great Islamic Encyclopedia," the ambassador shared.
Professor Edward Sandoyan, Rector of the Russian-Armenian University, congratulated Professor Asatryan on receiving the honorary title, noting his contribution to the development of Armenian-Iranian scientific cooperation.
Professor Asatryan is the author of hundreds of scholarly works published in many European and Asian languages. He was previously awarded the prestigious Iranian Presidential Book of the Year Award, further demonstrating the international recognition of his scholarly work.
