RAU Students Gain New Growth Opportunities thanks to Collaboration with TUMO LABS

Armen Darbinyan: "We attach great importance to TUMO for promoting the Armenian educational brand around the world."

On December 21, the Russian-Armenian University and the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies (in particular, TUMO LABS) signed an agreement as part of joint efforts to involve students in the self-study program under the leadership of TUMO LABS for the implementation of mini-projects. The agreement was signed by RAU Rector Armen Darbinyan and TUMO Chief Development Officer Pegor Papazian.

Armen Darbinyan told the guests about RAU’s technological projects, including those dedicated to the IT sphere, nanotechnology, physics, molecular biology, drones, etc. He also noted the opportunities provided by RAU as the most successful scientific and educational project between the two states - Armenia and Russia: “Our students speak many languages, and study according to the state standards of the two countries. Our education is one of the best in the country in terms of science; we occupy high positions in a number of prestigious ratings, along with leading universities of the world.”

“We attach great importance to TUMO for promoting the Armenian educational brand around the world, highly appreciate our cooperation, draw inspiration from new prospects and plan on expanding cooperation in every possible way,” the rector highlighted at the solemn signing ceremony of the agreement.

According to Pegor Papazian, the key point is that TUMO is becoming important for the academic environment and universities.

“TUMO LABS took the initiative with a proposal to organize various kinds of programs that will provide an opportunity for our students to study for free. To do so, they provide platforms, and materials with which students train (independently), and then are certified. We also agreed on mutual recognition of  loans. This will apply to non-majors as well,” said Mariam Voskanyan, Head of RAU Department of Economics and Finance.

It should be noted that under the agreement, the mission of TUMO LABS is to provide the necessary skills through a special self-study program, in which representatives of academia, especially higher education institutions and their students, will take part. TUMO LABS will provide its platform for guided self-study.
