On February 18, 2026, at 13:00 in Room 421, Silvie Nshanyan, a sustainability and clean-tech consultant with over a decade of experience in product and program management as well as operations strategy across startups, the public sector, and Fortune 500 companies, will deliver an open lecture titled «Demystifying Sustainability: What It Is, What It Isn’t, and What’s in It for You».

Language: English.

Silvie Nshanyan is a sustainability and clean-tech consultant with over a decade of experience in product, program management, and operations strategy across startups, the public sector, and Fortune 500 companies. She holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science and Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego; and Master’s degree in Energy and Sustainability from Northwestern University in Chicago. Her work focuses on helping organizations make sense of sustainability in practical, business-relevant terms—translating abstract environmental goals into economically viable decisions that support cost savings, resilience, and long-term value creation.

Designed for students with little or no prior exposure to sustainability as a formal concept, the talk introduces core ideas in clear, practical terms and addresses common misconceptions. It examines how sustainability increasingly influences business decisions, market access, and competitiveness, with examples relevant to Armenia and emerging economies. Students are encouraged to think critically about how these dynamics may shape their future roles as managers, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers.

The lecture is organized by the Department of Management and Business of the IEB of RAU.
